Celebrate GOOD SUNDAY at The Barwon Club Hotel , Sunday 5th April, 2026 kicking off in the bandroom from 3pm. A stacked Easter Sunday session at the Barwon Club brings together five bands from across the Australian underground rock, punk and garage scene. Loud guitars, fast sets and the kind of chaotic energy that makes Easter Sunday feel suspiciously like a Saturday night.

Melbourne punk legends The Meanies need no introduction. Formed in 1988 and quickly became one of Australia’s most explosive underground bands. Known for frantic Ramones-style power-pop riffs, short sharp songs and chaotic live shows, they built a cult following across the country’s all-ages circuit and shared stages with acts including Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Beastie Boys.

Super American Eagle is a Melbourne-based 3-piece heavy psych-rock band formed by industry veterans Brent DeBoer (The Dandy Warhols), Dave Mudie (Courtney Barnett), and Bob Harrow (Immigrant Union). Formed in 2022, they are known for a fuzzy, 90s-influenced stoner rock sound with urgent, melodic, and occasionally sludgy grooves.

Local Geelong Legends The Poppin Mommas bring raw rock-and-roll with garage, punk and dirty blues influences stitched together with their unpredictable stage antics. Watch them get loose BC Sunday Sesh Style.

The Surfcoast’s finest Sargent Baker play stripped-back rock driven by heavy riffs and blues-soaked swagger. Their sound sits somewhere between gritty Australian pub rock and garage-punk punch, they are in white hot form having just released longplayer Loose Ends.

Melbourne outfit Persecution Blues fuse garage rock with swampy blues energy and punk urgency. If there is a Melbourne sound, one that permeates the sticky carpeted beer barns of the inner suburbs, it’s the sound championed by these rock ‘n’ roll soldiers.
